Turntable Camera Script

This maya script will automatically create a camera that circles around your model and can be quickly modified to have different height, aim, distance, speed, and length. All these attributes can also be animated.

Copy the code at this link here to get the script.

Open up your script editor in maya and paste the code.

Highlight all the code, and middle mouse drag from anywhere in the highlighted text onto your shelf. It will create a little square button. Simply click this button to create your turntable camera.

Make sure to save your shelf. Click on the little triangle to the left of the shelf and select save shelf.

(Note: Do not use multiple times in one scene. It will mess up.)

Usage: Select the circle to move camera heigh up and down, and scale it to zoom in or out. Select the little aim constraint in the middle of the scene to change where the camera is pointing. The default length is 240 frames. To change the length, simply click on the number, (1 or 240) and change it to your desired start/end frame.

Hint: To change direction, switch the two path key numbers. (ie at the default, it is 1 and 240, change to 240 and 1 and it will go the other way around)
